Dubstep has exploded with popularity in the past couple years. Because of this growing trend Triad Dragons has given the people what they wanted. They have continuously brought dance music to the Colorado area with Global Dance Festival that always has a variety of house, trance, dubstep and even hip-hop. But all the dubstep fans want a night dedicated to the heavy beats and hard drops so that’s why last year Triad Dragon presented Global Dub Festival, a one day extravaganza of some of the best bass bangers the world has to offer. Like Global Dance Fest, it takes place in Morrison Colorado at the beautiful venue of Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Last year was the premier of Global Dub and on the line up was dubstep legends Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, Datsik, Dirtyloud and Downlink. This sold out event brought some serious rumbling to the rocks that pleased the entire crowd. With different varieties of dubstep just within these 5 artists there was something for everyone. For the second year Triad Dragons is bringing back Flux Pavilion for round two, Excision, Zomboy, Dirtyphonics LIVE and Designer Drugs. This big event just proves that Denver is the bass capital of the U.S. Flux Pavilion has taken over the dubstep scene in recent years. Being from England, he has a clear advantage in the field since London is the dubstep capital of the world. Influences such as Rusko, Skream and Bassment Jaxx has led this DJ to produce some of the hardest hitting and most popular tracks like “Bass Cannon”, “I Can’t Stop” and many more. His appearance for the second year in a row at Global Dub Festival will be welcomed with open arms.
This year Excision joins the lineup being one of the top dubstep DJs that has risen high up in the ratings since his album, X-Rated, came out in 2011. Although this event seems small being only one night and 5 artists it will be anything but. The sheer volume of the music and the hype of the crowd will escalate this into an unforgettable night. It’s still a very new festival but I can predict it growing much larger in years to come because of the popularity bass music has in this area. Join all your fellow bassheads Friday, May 18th for a louder than average night, you will not be disappointed!
